Phylogenetic analysis of bHLH classes III and IV in land plants and their algal relatives.

Class IV genes were present in both chlorophyte and charophyte algae, while class III was found to be land plant specific. Conclusions We performed a phylogenetic analysis of 863 land plant genes and 26 algal genes identified by orthogroup analysis as belonging to I bHLH i classes III and IV.
