Indonesia is one of the regions with a fairly high intensity of earthquakes. Some areas in Indonesia still use bricks as walls of high-rise buildings. Earthquakes often cause damage to high-rise brick-walled structures. Lateral loads that arise during an earthquake will affect building structures located around the epicenter and can cause damage. To avoid damage to the building structure, it is necessary to see how the response of the brick-walled multi-story building structure to the lateral load of the earthquake. Various types of approaches are used to see the response of high-rise building structures. The finite element method is one approach that can be used. In this study, it will be seen how the influence of mass on the structure of high-rise buildings during an earthquake. Using the finite element method and the mechanical vibration approach, the sway, displacement, and shear patterns of the building structure is seen. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
