This article reports that Columbia University in New York City has found satisfaction in using biodegradable plastic containers for its salads, fruits and sandwiches at dining locations all over the campus. Larry Levitas, director of Dining Services, asserts that students don't realize that the packaging is made from yellow corn instead of petroleum. The packaging is distributed by Cargill Dow LLC and made by NatureWorks PLA.
