This article presents news related to the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). The American Association for the Advancement of Science announces a program supporting up to ten outstanding advanced graduate students in the social and natural sciences as intern reporters, researchers, or production assistants in a variety of media for the summer of 1975. The New York City Chapter of the ACM discovered that data processing is still a topic of keen interest to high school students. This was evident by the large turnout for a one-day Computer Career Conference for high school students in the metropolitan New York area that was jointly sponsored by the ACM and New York University (NYU). The response of 1.500 requests was so over whelming that the sponsors had to limit the number of students from each school to hold to a group of 600, which even then was 300 more than in the original plan. As part of its community involvement program, NYU handled administrative matters, supplied facilities, and served a free lunch to all who attended, the ACM supplied the program, working with chapter members and the participating universities.
