The article reports on the importance of reflective practice and clinical supervision as teaching supervision skills to general practitioner (GP) appraisers in Great Britain. GP appraisal is not a continuous activity since it officially means to be supportive, developmental, confidential and no element of performance monitoring. In addition, appraisers are important since they have a duty to the primary care trusts to report any serious misconduct that requires a local investigation.
