In this article the author discusses the issue of public robbery in relation to the British National Health Service (NHS) based on William Cobbett's "Twelve Sermons of 1828." He presents a brief background of Cobbett and several terms defined in the ninth of his sermons. He also discusses Cobbett's notion of robbers of the public in relation to the administration of the NHS.
