The article presents findings of a research conducted on examining whether pretreatment with polysaccharides (ABPS) will modulate host immunity against malaria infection and improve the outcome of the disease. It investigates whether ABPS could modulate immunity against malaria, by using rodent malaria model Plasmodium yoelii 17XL (P. y17XL). It concludes that pretreatment with immuno-modulatory ABPS selectively enhanced immune responses to control the proliferation of malaria parasites.
