The article presents the stance of the Tax Executives Institute (TEI) on tax-related issues in the U.S. and Canada. TEI president Michael P. Boyle sent a letter to Senators Charles E. Grassley and Max Baucus asking for the retention of the last-in, first-out inventory accounting method in the Internal Revenue Code. Boyle expresses his opposition to the electronic filing of the Schedule E form proposed by the Internal Revenue Service. It includes the recommendations of the TEI for the business tax system of Canada.
