Building automation and control systems (BACS) based on cloud computing is becoming very popular. Using these systems telcos can start providing additional M2M services for smart homes. The BACS executive middleware, located at the server side, sends a request for service execution to the gateway in the form of a WebService message immediately after the user wants to use a certain BACS service and transforms it into a message appropriate for BACS (Konnex message). As soon as there are two requests for the BACS service execution at the gateway simultaneously, they are queued and performed consecutively regardless of the BACS service type. In research [9], the authors conclude that some BACS services are more interactive or more delay-sensitive than the others. It is therefore reasonable to suggest that the gateway should first handle the BACS services that are more interactive and the delay of which has greater impact on the quality of the user experience (QoE). This was the motivation for the research that is presented in this article and relates to the optimization of the BACS/IP gateway performance by means of a model for prioritized queue control on the gateway. We present the optimization of gateway performance by means of simulating BACS services in a convergent architecture model. The simulation goal was to determine how much traffic or how many residential units can be controlled via the TCP/IP networks by our BACS/IP gateway, considering that each BACS service must meet a certain quality of experience level. Simulation results show that without optimisation of the BACS/IP gateway performance of twenty apartments at the most can be controlled via one gateway. In the case of gateway performance optimisation by means of prioritising queues at the gateway, results reveal that thirty-two apartments can be controlled by one BACS/IP gateway, thus proving the effectiveness of the optimization model. V zadnjem času so se močno uveljavili sistemi in storitve za upravljanje procesov v zgradbah (UPZ), ki temeljijo na konceptu računalništva v oblaku, kar telekomunikacijskim operaterjem omogoča uvajanje novih M2M storitev s področja inteligentnega doma. Izvršilna povezovalna programska oprema za UPZ, ki se nahaja na strani operaterja v trenutku, ko želi uporabnik uporabiti določeno storitev UPZ, pošlje zahtevo za izvajanje storitve na prehod UPZ/IP v obliki sporočila WebService, ki ga le-ta nato pretvori v sporočilo, primerno za UPZ (sporočilo Konnex). V trenutku, ko se na prehodu UPZ/IP pojavita dve zahtevi po izvajanju storitev UPZ sočasno, jih le-ta razvrsti v čakalno vrsto in jih nato izvaja zaporedno, ne glede na tip storitve UPZ. V raziskavi [9] avtorji ugotovijo, da so nekatere storitve UPZ bolj interaktivne oziroma so bolj občutljive na zakasnitev. Zato je smiselno, da prehod v trenutku, ko hkrati pride več zahtev po izvajanju storitev UPZ, obravnava najprej tiste storitve UPZ, ki so bolj interaktivne oziroma ima zakasnitev večji vpliv na kakovost uporabniške izkušnje. Iz tega izhaja motivacija za raziskavo, ki jo predstavljamo v tem prispevku in ki se nanaša na optimizacijo delovanja prehoda UPZ/IP s pomočjo modela za prioritetno upravljanje vrst na prehodu. Optimizacijo delovanja prehoda pokažemo s pomočjo simulacije delovanja storitev UPZ v konvergenčnem arhitekturnem modelu (slika 1). Namen simulacije je bil ugotoviti, kolikšen promet oziroma kolikšno število stanovanjskih enot je mogoče upravljati prek omrežij TCP/IP s pomočjo enega prehoda UPZ/IP, pri čemer mora biti za vsako storitev UPZ zagotovljena ustrezna kakovost uporabniške izkušnje. Rezultati simulacije kažejo, da je brez optimizacije delovanja prehoda UPZ/IP mogoče upravljati s pomočjo enega prehoda največ 20 stanovanj hkrati, pri optimizaciji delovanja prehoda s pomočjo prioritetnega upravljanja čakalnih vrst na njem pa je mogoče s pomočjo enega prehoda upravljati 32 stanovanj, kar kaže na učinkovitost optimizacijskega modela.
