The article focuses on Lord Hunter committee's report on Punjab disturbances of April 1919. For long months Great Britain has anxiously awaited the publication of the report of the Committee presided over by the Scottish judge, Lord Hunter, sent out to India to investigate the Punjab disturbances of April 1919, their causes, and the measures taken to deal with them. The news of the Amritsar massacre, released eight months after the event itself, intensely shocked democratic Great Britain and blackened her name in the eyes of the world. It is regrettable, but undeniable, that stain will not be obliterated by the Report. It is so much whitewash.
