India is passing through a tremendous crisis, the most critical since the Indian war of Independence of 1857. Organized revolutionary uprisings have occurred in distant parts of India; in the provinces of the Punjab and Bengal, Bombay and the United Provinces of Agra and Oudh. The immediate cause of the prevent revolutionary outbreaks in India is officially ascribed to the enactment of the Rowlatt Act. Apart from revolution within, the British Raj is confronted with a formidable invasion from outside. The Afgan forces have invaded India and have captured many mountain tops. This Afghan invasion of India had been expected for a long time, for ever since the world-war began the Hindu revolutionists had been working to induce the Amir to free India from the British yoke.
