The article presents information on several literary materials. J. Scott Keltie's "Report on Geographical Education," is the latest of several efforts made by the Royal Geographical Society to promote the study of the geography in Great Britain. It is an elaborate account of the position which instruction in that branch occupies in the school and university courses of Great Britain and the principal countries of Europe. "Nasal Catarrh," one of a long list of books for the body, is the second edition of a purely professional work. Its omission to refer to cocaine as a local anesthetic in rhinitis operations, illustrates the common fact, that the latest formal scientific books are never quite abreast of the most advanced teaching and practice.
