This paper aims to analyze the General Education and Specialization courses under the BSE-Filipino program of Rizal Technological University; to apply Acquisition Planning in critiquing past curriculum of the program, and to generate an elective course that can develop in studying the Filipino language. The researcher surveyed and examined academic documents pertinent to the development of the Course in the University, and conducted an analysis using the Acquisition Planning to assess the operations of the Department, College, and University, Filipino language course, and program. Based on the results, there is still an opportunity for a language course to conform in the integration of Filipino in other disciplines; to develop additional domains for the research priority areas of the Department, to scaffold the interest of Filipino discipline as area studies, to theorize Filipino in various discourses, and to reconcile the knowledge production of the academic towards the communities and vice-versa. This course possesses the utilization of concepts, theories, and ideals of language studies towards its theorization in the Media and Information Literacy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
