This paper aims to shed light on the thought and ideas of the Filipino philosopher, Ricardo Pascual. It is divided into three parts: Firstly, it discusses his controversial career at UP. Secondly, it aims to analyze and synthesize Pascual's notable works, mainly his published books. Using Feorillo Demeterio's sixteen discourses in Filipino philosophy (2013) as a framework which was used by Emmanuel De Leon in his analysis of Thomasian philosophers, this paper investigates the overall philosophical discourse of Pascual, by categorizing his works based on Demeterio's framework. The final part of the paper aims to surface notable points in Pascual's philosophy, particularly his responses to political issues in the country. This paper argues that Pascual's main philosophical project centers on discussing the contemporary socio-political issues of the country during his time in order to prescribe solutions to them, in a way that resembles those of his idol, Jose Rizal. Pascual was an influential figure in the Philosophy Department at UP at the time and he was able to impart to his students a philosophy in the form of logic that he inherited from positivism as well as critical discourse.
