A recent study conducted by researchers at Zhejiang University School of Medicine in China examined the efficacy and safety of Venetoclax-based treatments in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (MM). The study found that Venetoclax showed a meaningful effect in MM patients who had not responded to previous standard therapies. The researchers analyzed seven studies and found that multi-drug treatments were more effective than Venetoclax plus dexamethasone treatments in terms of overall response rate and complete response rate. Subgroup analysis also indicated that patients with specific genetic characteristics achieved higher response rates. The study concluded that Venetoclax-based regimens could be considered as effective and safe treatments for MM patients with certain genetic markers. [Extracted from the article]
