A new report from researchers at the Hangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention in China explores the acceptance of influenza vaccination among teachers in Hangzhou. The study found that the influenza vaccine coverage among teachers was low at 5.9%, but the intentions to receive the vaccine were relatively high. Factors such as previous vaccination history, knowledge about influenza and the vaccine, beliefs about the likelihood and severity of catching the flu, and doctors' recommendations were associated with influenza vaccination acceptance. The researchers suggest that future research should focus on increasing vaccination rates by understanding the relationship between acceptance and behavior. [Extracted from the article]
