No doubt, the upbringing of a child begins from the moment of his birth. That is why, it is obligatoryin Islam for parents to pave the way for their happiness by all available means right from their birth. So, reciting Adhan & Iqamah for new born, giving him a good name and well nurturing is the duty of the parents. Similarly, it is their duty to make efforts for the good education upbringing of the child so that he can adopt pure human qualities. In this regard, one of the things that Islam emphasis, is Aqeeqah, i.e, slaughtering an animal on a child's birth. Although this act is "Mustahab" (better, not obligatory), according to famous Shia and Ahl al-Sunnah jurists, it is "Wajib" (obligatory) according to Syed Murtaza and Ibn Junaid Al-Skafi. Keeping in view the importance of this act, it seems the identification of its fostering impact is crucial. This paper examines the fostering aspect of Aqeeqah. The author has pointed out 13 fostering aspects of Aqeeqah in his research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
