A recent study conducted by the University of Paris aimed to understand the characteristics of insomnia in long-COVID patients. The researchers compared the polysomnographic parameters of 17 long-COVID patients with insomnia symptoms to 34 matched controls with chronic insomnia but no history of long-COVID. The study found that the PSG parameters of long-COVID patients with insomnia were similar to those of patients with regular chronic insomnia. The researchers suggest that the pathophysiology and treatment options for insomnia in long-COVID patients should be similar to those recommended for chronic insomnia. [Extracted from the article]
