A study conducted by researchers from Zhejiang University in China focused on colorectal cancer (CRC) and the role of a protein called KIF15 in its development. The study found that KIF15 was significantly higher in CRC and that suppressing its expression inhibited the proliferation and migration of CRC cells while promoting apoptosis. The researchers also identified the downstream molecular NRAS and Rac signaling pathway associated with KIF15 and found that KIF15 reduced the ubiquitination modification of NRAS protein, enhancing its stability. The study concluded that KIF15 promotes CRC progression by regulating NRAS expression and the Rac signaling pathway. This research was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
