A systematic review and meta-analysis conducted by researchers at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China examined the efficacy of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) for low back pain (LBP). The study analyzed 22 studies involving 1749 patients and found that ESWT was effective in reducing pain, improving physical and psychological conditions, and increasing functionality compared to other therapies. The analysis also indicated that ESWT had long-term efficacy and was safe.
