A systematic review of real-world studies was conducted to assess the effectiveness of automated insulin delivery (AID) systems for individuals with type 1 diabetes. The review included 20 studies representing 171,209 individuals and found that the majority of studies demonstrated a significant improvement in glycemic outcomes with AID use. Specifically, there was a >10% change in time spent in the target range, a decrease in hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels, and a reduction in glucose management indicator (GMI) levels. The findings suggest that AID is becoming the standard of care for individuals with type 1 diabetes, and it is important for individuals to be informed about these systems and have access to them.
