Researchers at Mississippi State University have conducted a study on the immunosuppressive effects of cannabinoids in multiple sclerosis (MS). The study used an in vitro model to mimic T cell activation in MS and found that cannabidiol (CBD) and A9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) suppressed cytokine production. The researchers concluded that this in vitro model can be used to evaluate the immune effects of cannabinoid compounds. The study was supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and has been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
