A study conducted at Peking Union Medical College Hospital in Beijing, China, aimed to evaluate the long-term safety of IL-17A inhibitors in patients with psoriasis and tuberculosis infection (TBI) without tuberculosis preventive treatment (TPT). The study found that IL-17A inhibitors did not reactivate tuberculosis in these patients, suggesting that routine TBI screening and preventive treatment may not be necessary. The study also identified age and body mass index as independent risk factors for TBI. No cases of active tuberculosis were identified during the 2-year follow-up period. [Extracted from the article]
