A study conducted in Beijing, China investigated the relationship between various factors and the occurrence of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients with traumatic fractures. The study found that serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and P-selectin levels were higher, while high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels were lower in patients with DVT compared to those without DVT. Platelet parameters such as mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), and platelet large cell ratio (P-LCR) were also found to be decreased in the DVT group. The researchers suggest that these factors could be used for the clinical diagnosis and evaluation of DVT. [Extracted from the article]
