A new study conducted by researchers at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has found that current hepatitis B mortality rates in the United States are three times higher than the national target. The study aimed to identify disparities in social vulnerability and premature mortality among individuals with hepatitis B. The analysis of 17,483 hepatitis B-listed decedents revealed that most were US-born, male, and born between 1945 and 1965. The study concluded that successful interventions should be tailored to disproportionately affected populations and the social vulnerability features of their geographic areas.
