This article, published in the journal Endoscopy, discusses the recurrence rates and predictors of large nonpedunculated colorectal polyps following endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). The study included 182 patients who underwent EMR of polyps larger than 20mm in a non-tertiary hospital. The results showed a recurrence rate of 17%, with size and the presence of ulceration within the polyp being associated with higher recurrence rates. The study suggests that including ulceration in the risk stratification for recurrence may improve management strategies. [Extracted from the article]
