A new report from Children's Hospital Philadelphia discusses the use of retrograde urethrography (RUG) as a radiologic procedure to evaluate the urethra in pediatric patients. The study reviewed medical records and images from RUG exams performed between 2010 and 2020. The most common indications for RUG were stricture, postsurgical evaluation, and trauma. The study found that RUG was a useful method for evaluating the pediatric male urethra when catheterization techniques were properly tailored. The research concluded that RUG provides successful imaging evaluation of the urethra in pediatric patients. [Extracted from the article]
