This work reported an Au x /BaTiO 3 plasmonic photocatalyst with superior photocatalytic CO 2 reduction performance under visible light irradiation compared to ordinary BaTiO 3 . This is mainly attributed to the introduction of plasmonic Au NPs, which improves the separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers and further enhances the photocatalytic CO 2 reduction performance of the catalyst through the hot electrons generated by the LSPR effect. The photocatalytic conversion rates of CO 2 to CO and CH 4 by Au 5 /BaTiO 3 reached 62.3 and 20.7 μmol g −1 h −1 , respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
