A study conducted by researchers at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in Iran has found that cedrol, a compound found in conifers, has potential neuroprotective effects. The study focused on the role of cedrol in reducing memory deficits caused by lipopolysaccharide-induced neuroinflammation in rats. The results showed that cedrol improved learning and memory function, reduced levels of inflammatory markers, and restored oxidative stress markers. These findings suggest that cedrol may have beneficial effects on cognitive impairment by acting as an antioxidant and modulating neuro-inflammatory mediators. [Extracted from the article]
