Researchers at University Hospital Center in Faro, Portugal have conducted a study on spondylarthritis (SpA) patients to investigate the association between neutrophil to lymphocyte (NLR) and platelet to lymphocyte (PLR) ratios and disease activity, as well as their predictive value for response to bDMARD treatment. The study included 170 patients, mostly male with an axial phenotype. The results showed significant associations between NLR and PLR with disease activity, and both ratios were found to be significant predictors of therapeutic response to bDMARD in naive SpA patients. This research has been peer-reviewed and provides valuable insights for the treatment of spondylarthritis. [Extracted from the article]
