A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Southern Florida examined the characteristics of "SuperAgers," individuals aged 80 and older who have memory performance comparable to those 20 years younger. The study focused specifically on Hispanic SuperAgers, as limited knowledge exists about this population. The researchers found that higher education, fewer limitations in daily activities, and fewer depressive symptoms were associated with SuperAging among Hispanic older adults. The study suggests that increasing access to education and addressing depressive symptoms may help preserve episodic memory in older Hispanic adults. [Extracted from the article]
