A systematic review and meta-analysis conducted in Jinhua, People's Republic of China, evaluated the efficacy of Vitamin A (VitA) as an adjuvant therapy for pediatric Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) and its impact on inflammation levels. The study included 10 randomized controlled trials with a total sample size of 1,485. The results showed that VitA adjuvant therapy significantly improved clinical symptoms, shortened hospitalization time, promoted the disappearance of lung rales, and alleviated cough and fever symptoms in pediatric MPP patients. Additionally, VitA adjuvant therapy effectively reduced inflammation levels. The researchers concluded that VitA adjuvant therapy could be a potential treatment option for pediatric MPP.
