A report from National Central University in Taoyuan, Taiwan, challenges the traditional view that motor imagery and motor execution are functionally equivalent. The study used a response repetition paradigm to compare the two modes of action without relying on subjective judgments. Future research may explore the neural underpinnings of this paradigm to further understand the common and separable aspects of motor imagery and execution. [Extracted from the article]
