A recent study conducted at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, examined the benefit of adjuvant therapy (AT) following pancreaticoduodenectomy for pancreatic adenocarcinoma. The study found that the benefit of AT depends on the patient's response to neoadjuvant therapy (NAT). Patients who had a favorable response to NAT did not benefit from AT, while those who did not have a favorable response saw improved overall survival with AT. The study suggests that response to NAT should be considered when determining the need for AT in patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma. [Extracted from the article]
