The article reports that the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC) will extend the implementation of its operating procedures and programs even under extreme winter weather conditions to keep electricity supplies and demand in equilibrium in the U.S. and Canada. The evaluation conducted by the NPCC indicates that identified fuel supplies to power plants could be constricted during the winter caused by the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
