The authors discuss the implication for practice of a cohort study regarding the association of maternal obesity during pregnancy with higher rates of all-cause mortality and cardiovascular hospital admissions in adult offspring. They reveal the higher rates of all-cause mortality and cardiovascular events of offspring of mothers who were obese during pregnancy than offspring of normal weight mothers. They outline the strategies to reduce overweight and obesity in family for lifelong benefits.
