One could not conceive the Arghezian literature without the contribution of the clerical experience in the poet's biography, which lasted from 1899 to 1905. The decision to go to a monastery was imposed by his destiny, the young poet losif Theodorescu (Tudor Arghezi) having no alternative to his precarious life as he was living with his sick mother, Rozalia Arghezi, in the slums of Bucharest. The Romanian Bishop losif Gheorghian made big plans for him, but losif Theodorescu, Arghezi's name as a monk, unleashes his insubordinate character and leaves the clerical order, outraged by what he sees around him. Such an experience has proved productive on several levels, resulting in one volume of poetry, novels and numerous articles and pamphlets published by the Romanian poet. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
