The study follows the work of Dora D'lstria related to the study of Serbian folk poetry, bringing together of the Balkan nations and advocating women's rights in the East. D'lstria's study of Serbian folk literature was a part of her jurnalistic activity intended to make the West interested in the liberation of the Balkan nation.
