Researchers from the University Gadjah Mada have published a study on machine learning-based virtual screening for natural compounds that have the potential to inhibit acetylcholinesterase (AChE) in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The study aimed to explore and identify potential candidates from natural bioactive compounds for AD treatment. Using machine learning algorithms, the researchers classified 1730 compounds from six plants and identified several compounds that were predicted to be active in inhibiting AChE. The study provides valuable insights into potential natural compounds for the treatment of AD. [Extracted from the article]
