The article presents a case of partial trisomy for chromosome 22. There are numerous reports of a small extra chromosome or fragment in the karyotypes of both normal individuals and abnormal individuals without Down's syndrome. The article concerns a retarded woman who has 47 chromosomes, one of which resembles a G group chromosome, but is shorter than the members of this group. Both the clinical picture and the dermatoglyphic findings exclude mongolism and the case might represent one of partial Trisomy 22.
