A study conducted at Guangxi Normal University in Guilin, China, focused on the design and synthesis of 28 derivatives of 17fi-estradiol-amino acid. These derivatives were tested for their in vitro antitumor activity, particularly against breast cancer cells. The results showed that one derivative, 3-benzyloxy-Estra-1,3,5 (10)-triene-17fi-ol pyrrolidine-2-carboxylate hydrochloride (I-12), exhibited the best inhibitory activity against breast cancer cells. Further analysis revealed that I-12 may act on specific targets and pathways related to cancer. This research provides insights into the potential of hormone replacement therapy in cancer treatment.
