A recent study conducted in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, compared the effectiveness of two different dressings, oxidized regenerated cellulose (ORC) and calcium alginate (CA), in managing bleeding from malignant wounds caused by breast cancer. The study found that there was no significant difference in the time it took for bleeding to stop between the two groups, but more hemostatic products were used in the ORC group. The researchers concluded that CA may be the preferred choice for managing bleeding in malignant wounds, as it allows for more immediate action. However, more research is needed to provide strong scientific evidence for the treatment of these bleeding events. [Extracted from the article]
