Hornblower, the company that operates the NYC Ferry system, has filed for bankruptcy due to the financial impact of Covid-19 on its overnight cruise line, American Queen Voyages. Private equity firm Strategic Value Partners (SVP) plans to acquire majority ownership of Hornblower and inject new capital into the company. The bankruptcy is not expected to affect the NYC Ferry service, and the city's Economic Development Corp. is confident that ferry operations will continue without disruption. The restructuring deal will reduce Hornblower's total debt by $720 million. [Extracted from the article]
