Researchers at Chongqing Medical University in China have conducted a study on individuals with 17-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 3 (17 beta-HSD3) deficiency. The study involved five individuals ranging in age from pre-adolescence to adolescence. The researchers identified four previously unreported mutations in these subjects and conducted a comprehensive evaluation to assess the potential occurrence of testicular tumors. The study found that early intervention and appropriate treatment interventions led to significant improvements in genital appearance and successful gender transition. The researchers emphasize the importance of early intervention in addressing concerns related to genital appearance in individuals with 17 beta-HSD3 deficiency. [Extracted from the article]
