New research from the Second Hospital of Jilin University in China has investigated the role of 17 variants in the Wnt/b-catenin pathway in the development of osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) in the Chinese Han population. The study found that certain genetic variants were significantly associated with an increased or decreased risk of ONFH, as well as clinical traits such as bilateral hip lesions and stage IV risk of ONFH. The research also highlighted the potential involvement of these variants in lipid disorder and abnormal coagulation in ONFH. This study provides valuable insights into the genetic factors contributing to ONFH in the Chinese Han population. [Extracted from the article]
