Plans for an office building at a former brass factory site in Corktown, Detroit, owned by Ford Motor Co.'s real estate arm have been scrapped. The site is now being reimagined as a mixed-use development, with potential for commercial and residential spaces. The Michigan Central district, anchored by Michigan Central Station, is set to open in two months. Ford Land Development Co. had previously planned to create a 290,000-square-foot office and lab space, but the size and use of the site are now being reconsidered. The overall Michigan Central project, including the redevelopment of a former book depository, is estimated to cost $950 million. [Extracted from the article]
