A recent study conducted by investigators at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health examined the effectiveness of 17-alpha-hydroxyprogesterone caproate (17-OHP) in preventing recurrent preterm birth. The study analyzed real-world data from a database of insurance claims and found that there was no significant association between receiving 17-OHP treatment and a reduced risk of recurrent preterm birth. The research concluded that 17-OHP did not have a beneficial effect in preventing spontaneous recurrent preterm birth in their U.S.-based cohort. This study provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of 17-OHP in clinical practice. [Extracted from the article]
