The article discusses the works of Cambridge Platonist Henry More which focuses to combat the growth of atheism during the seventeenth century. More has published books with the aim of illustrating the immortality of the soul and the realism of life after death. D. P. Walker stresses that More provides a more materialistic view concerning his approach on the nature of the soul. He stresses that the use of the term materialism refers to the problems concerning the reality of the theological views cited by More in relation to spirituality. Furthermore, the author explores the confusions brought by More's philosophical views to readers.
