The article focuses on the dissolution of the Land Bank Company by an act of Great Britain's Parliament in 1740 in the colony of Massachusetts. The act was focused on protecting colonial investors from societies, partnerships, and schemes and was an extension of Parliamentary acts written in response to the South Sea Bubble. A discussion of money and currency during the colonial era is presented. The article describes efforts of the General Court of Massachusetts to implement the Act and guarantee the reimbursement of investors in the Land Bank.
